As the suburb riots extend from Paris to all of France, in an interview with Radio-France, the police prefect of Eure (Normandy), Jacques Laisné, says he believes the riots are organized:
“What I remember from this night, he said, is the extreme violence, the extreme aggressivity of a gang of 100 to 150 of what I dare call “youths” who deliberately seeked contact and attacked with extreme violence police forces which were present last night in large numbers. They also attacked firemen who had to abandon their positions temporarily and attacked and almost butchered young civil servants of the municipal police force who today are hospitalized. I believe this is organized. By whom ? It’s up to the judicial power to say.“
